At SeekMySpace, we strive to make the booking process fair and transparent for both guests (seekers) and hosts (space owners). This policy outlines the rules governing cancellations, refunds, and related charges on the platform.

1. Overview

All bookings on SeekMySpace are subject to the cancellation terms described below. Refunds, when applicable, are processed to the original payment method. The applicable cancellation window depends on the booking type and how far in advance the cancellation is made.

2. Guest cancellation policy

Guests may cancel confirmed bookings subject to the following refund schedule:

Note: Platform fees charged by SeekMySpace are non-refundable once the booking is confirmed, except in cases where the host cancels or extenuating circumstances apply. Because Cashfree holds funds centrally, refunds are processed directly — no manual follow-up needed.

3. Host cancellation policy

Hosts are expected to honour confirmed bookings. If a host cancels a confirmed booking:

  • The guest receives a full refund (100%), including all service fees and taxes.
  • The host may receive a cancellation penalty deducted from future payouts, ranging from 5% to 15% of the booking value depending on the timeframe.
  • Repeated host cancellations may result in listing suspension or account action.

4. Refund timelines

Once a refund is initiated, the processing time depends on the original payment method:

Refunds are always credited back to the original payment source. Please allow additional time for your bank or payment provider to reflect the refund in your account.

5. Non-refundable charges

The following charges are non-refundable unless the cancellation is initiated by the host or by SeekMySpace:

  • Platform fee (seeker platform fee)
  • Payment gateway processing fee

6. Force majeure & extenuating circumstances

Full refunds may be granted regardless of the cancellation window in the following extenuating circumstances:

  • Natural disasters, severe weather, or government-declared emergencies affecting the booking location
  • Government travel restrictions or lockdowns
  • Verified medical emergency of the guest or an immediate family member (documentation required)
  • The space is significantly not as described or is uninhabitable

Claims under extenuating circumstances must be submitted within 14 days of the event and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis by our support team.

7. How to cancel a booking

You can cancel a booking through any of the following methods:

  1. Dashboard: Go to My Bookings, select the booking, and click "Cancel".
  2. Support: Create a support ticket with the booking reference number.
  3. Email: Write to [email protected] with your booking number and reason for cancellation.

8. Disputes & resolution

If you believe a refund determination was made in error, you may file a dispute within 30 days of the cancellation date. Disputes can be raised through the support centre. Our team will review the matter and respond within 5 – 7 business days.

For payment-related disputes, we recommend first contacting SeekMySpace support before initiating a chargeback with your bank, as chargebacks may result in temporary account suspension.
